1.5. Neurosurgery with Elements of Neuro-Oncology 1600-LekM4CUNNEC-J
During the classes, the student, using the knowledge of the basics of anatomy, physiology and neurophysiology of the nervous system, will expand and refine knowledge in the field of neurology with elements specific to intensive and interventional procedures. They should be able to take diagnostic and therapeutic actions in selected disease states, especially in head, spinal and central nervous system injuries, as well as in vascular and neoplastic diseases of the brain and spinal cord, and in degenerative changes of the spine.
The student should acquire the ability to: subjective and objective examination of a patient with a direct threat to life, including in particular a patient with impaired consciousness and intracranial compartment, plan and interpret additional tests, including specialist imaging diagnostics (mainly radiological), determine the diagnosis and direction of treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine , vascular and neoplastic diseases of the brain and in conditions after CNS injuries, perform basic procedures and medical procedures.
