Master's Diploma Seminar 1155-12-E22-0-Semin
The aim of the Master’s Diploma Seminar is to support students in the process of writing their MA theses which includes:
- identification of the research interests of students;
- discussion about MA thesis topics oriented to dealing with the problems of macroeconomics, microeconomics and international trade;
- formulation of MA thesis topics, aim and objectives, research problems and hypotheses;
- selection of information sources and research methods;
- teaching the principles of conducting literature surveys (including quoting and paraphrasing, citing and building reference lists);
- teaching the principles of academic writing and editing MA theses;
- teaching presentation of conclusions and recommendations for business practice, politicians, government bodies, members of the monetary board of the central bank etc.

Global knowledge-based economy Suggestions in regard to empirical study In the empirical part of the work student should be able to apply some quantitative methods to solve the adopted research problem. Basic methods and tools that can be used: methods of multidimensional analysis, taxonomic methods, linear regression models, econometric model for qualitative variables, basic time series models, error correction models, VAR models, models for panel data |
