Chemistry of the environment and ecology 0600-S1-O-CSE
Lecture: The aim of the lectures is to present the basic information about the Earth. The genesis of shaping and protecting the environment. Atmospheric protection issues (origin, structure, composition). Hydrosphere issues. Sources and effects of water pollution. Sewage management. Cleansing - types and methods. Methods of water pollution analysis. Organization of environmental monitoring. GLP, GMP, ISO. Soil protection. The balance of the use of the soil surface. Solid waste (industrial, municipal, agricultural). Wastewater, water pollution. Population and food. Civilization nuisance. Noise, vibration - prevention.
Classes: Students discuss various sources of threats and environmental pollution.
Laboratory exercises: Laboratory exercises are designed to prepare for work in research laboratories. They include studies of surface water pollution. Determination of anionic substances in water and sewage.

Lab:
Continuous assessment including activity in the classroom, quality of work
laboratory, knowledge of the analytical procedures necessary for the correct performance of the exercise-laboratory analysis, obtaining a positive assessment of the laboratory completion - W4-W7, U3-U6, K1, K2
Assessment criteria:
Lecture: graded credit on the basis of the issues listed in the program content of the subject; answers to the questions will require solving tasks related to the assumed learning outcomes;
Exercises:
Credit for the assessment on the basis of the paper presentation on a selected topic regarding environmental pollution hazard and a paper based on an English-language scientific / popular science publication on environmental pollution or human health hazards.
Laboratory: graded credit on the basis of the number of points from the entrance tests covering the subject
experiments performed as part of laboratory exercises, performance of all experiments provided for in the program of activities (the quality of laboratory work, the way of conducting experiments, and the ability to cooperate in a group will be assessed) and the analysis of the obtained results in the form of reports.
