Safety and efficiency of cosmetics 0600-S1-ChK-BiSK
Lecture:
The lectures will cover the legal regulations regarding the production of cosmetics and the rules for assessing the safety of cosmetic raw materials and cosmetic products. The lectures will cover the theoretical basis of the toxicology and labeling of cosmetics. Substances prohibited for use in cosmetics and raw materials with a potential allergenic and sensitizing effect, the use of which is limited will be presented. Students learn about the duties of people responsible for introducing a cosmetic to the market and its safety. Various methods of testing cosmetic products before they are introduced to the market will be discussed.
Laboratorium:
Students will assess the effect of different cosmetics on biophysical skin parameters: stratum corneum hydration, skin surface pH, and casual sebum content.
