The network of environment protection in Germany will be illustrated on examples from Mecklenburg. Specified case studies will be concerned on spatial planning and sustainable development, geological maps and models (as important tools for landscape and environmental history), geoparks as an hot spots of environmental education. Students will learn tasks of geological surveys and geopark network in Germany.

Student W1: has knowledge on network of environment protection in Germany - K_W04 W2: is familiar with main traditional and modern techniques of natural recources protection used in Germany and some other countries – K_W12 W3: has basic knowledge in filed of functioning of some (semi)natural ecosystems and geoparks management in Germany – K_W04 W5: knows some specific case studies of environmental restoration executed in some areas all over the world – K_W04

evaluation based on gained points by a student on the written essay:
fail- <8 pts (50%)
satisfactory- 8-9,5 pts (50-60%)
satisfactory plus- 10-11 pts (61-70%)
good – 11,5-12,5 pts (71-80%)
good plus- 13-14 pts (81-90%)
very good- 14,5-16 pts (91-100%)
