The student
W1: has in-depth and systematized knowledge of selected aspects of Anglophone culture and media related to their MA project (K_W04, 09).
W2: is familiar with major developments in the field of English studies (K_W06).
W3: has in-depth and systematized knowledge of research-related terminology and methodology applied in cultural studies (K_W07).
W4: has in-depth, systematized and expert knowledge of selected aspects of cultural studies related to their MA project (K_W08).

U1: In writing the practical part of their MA work, is able to search for, assess the usefulness, analyse and interpret information from academic works and other sources (e.g. original texts and translations, reviews and interviews, translator’s paratexts), using digital tools to systematize and interpret their data, and to prepare an informative presentation of research results (K_U01)
U2: In writing the practical part of their MA work, identifies gaps in their knowledge and existing research related to translation studies, poses well formulated research questions and selects proper tools for answering these research questions (K_U02)
U3: In writing the practical part of their MA work, modifies the outline of their research project to realistically reflect the amount of data, the character of the research material, and the applicability of selected tools and methods (K_U03)
U4: In writing the practical part of their MA work, presents clearly edited and well-structured material to the supervisor. (K_U04)
U5: In writing the practical part of their MA work, consistently applies the selected theoretical perspective to analyse the research problem (K_U07)

U1: The student can manage the development of their individual research project, flexibly adapting to the supervisor's feedback and unforseen circumstances (K_U03, K_U10, K_U11)
U2: The student can participate in academic discussion in empirical linguistics, communicating the results of their research to experts as well as educated laymen, and defending their theses and methodological choices (K_U5, K_U12)
U3: The student can develop their research skills on their own, identifying specific research questions within their research project, finding the relevant academic literature, and conducting self-guided research on those questions (K_08, K_U10, K_U11)

MA SEMINAR IN LITERATURE
U1: The student can integrate the MA supervisor’s comments concerning the individual research project; present and suggest their alterations and do further research to complete and submit the complete MA project (K_U02, K_U08).
U2: The student can develop their individual research project into the final version of the thesis written in academic English (C1+ level), with the properly kept argumentative structure, style sheet principles and recommendations, and the copyright rules (K_U01, K_U03, K_U07).
U3: The student can complete their individual MA thesis written and submitted according to the principles specified by the Faculty of Humanities (K_U08, K_U11).
U4: The student can integrate the academic knowledge gained during the MA seminar classes and other courses and use it in their individual project and in the critical discussion on the selected aspect of Anglophone literary studies (K_U13).
MA SEMINAR IN CULTURAL STUDIES
The student
U1: is able to search for, analyse and interpret information from various sources, applying methods of cultural studies and using advanced technologies in their research (K_U01, K_U04).
U2: is able to select, apply and adjust research methods and tools to address both typical and non-typical research problems (K_U02).
U3: is able to apply advanced theoretical perspectives and paradigms pertaining to cultural studies and use their knowledge to formulate and test hypotheses concerning research problems (K_U07).
U4: is able to undertake autonomous tasks in the field of cultural studies, taking into account the objectives and instructions formulated by their academic supervisors (K_U08).
U5: is able to gain and deepen their knowledge in the field of cultural studies and develop their research skills on their own (K_U11).
U6: is able to critically analyse and interpret various texts, use specialist terminology and justify the selected methodology in the field of cultural studies (K_U13).
U7: is able to formulate critical opinions about cultural artefacts on the basis of academic knowledge and experience, and to present their critical opinions in various forms and media (K_U15).
