(po angielsku) K_W09: The graduate has advanced knowledge of selected language issues in the comparative, contrastive, and intercultural contexts which will help them to address and analyse such problems occurring in translation and to select most effective strategies for translation/ K_W10: The graduate has advanced knowledge of specialist language varieties of English, mainly scientific and business discourse, enabling them to translate non-literary texts K_W11: The graduate has advanced knowledge of the principles of translation enabling them to understand the significance of strategies and effective problem solving in the translation process. .

(po angielsku) K_U01: The graduate is able to search for, analyse, assess, select, and apply information necessary in the research work of a translator using relevant and diverse sources and methods allowing to solve problems and apply effective strategies in working with texts. K_U04: The graduate is able to recognise various registers and varieties of English in order to translate various texts correctly and adequately K_U08: The graduate is able to work in a team assuming various roles with the aim of developing a joint project in translation. K_U19: The graduate is able to be a cultural mediator in communication between languages and cultures that is expressed through translation. .

(po angielsku) K_K01: The graduate is aware of the level of their knowledge and skills and understands the need for constant learning and development of their skills, which is required in the daily work of translators. K_K02: The graduate identifies and solves ethical and legal problems connected with the profession of a translator. K_K06: The graduate is able to acquire information used to solve practical and cognitive problems in professional translation situations.

(po angielsku) This seminar is designed for students who wish to extend their knowledge on translation. This may be relevant for students who plan to develop their linguistic and extralinguistic skills with a view to becoming translators in the future. The students are required to know Polish at least at B2 level.
