The student W1: has advanced knowledge of literary studies, including key concepts related to American poetry (K_W04).

Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności

The student U1: reads and interprets poetic texts in English, applying relevant literary theories to explore form, tradition, and innovation (K_U02, K_U06). U2: is able to search library holdings and to refer properly to literary scholars’ analyses, interpretations and translations of the poems discussed in the seminar (K_U01). U3: demonstrates the ability to express ideas about American poetry in English during class discussions (K_U05).

Assessment methods:
- mid-term test and final test – 40% of the final grade (2x20 points)– W1, U1, U2
- graded involvement in class – 60% of the final grade (12x5 points)– U2, U3

Assessment criteria:
fail – 0-59 %
satisfactory – 60-69 %
satisfactory plus – 70-75 %
good – 76-85 %
good plus – 86-90 %
very good – 91-100 %
