(po angielsku) Contact hours with the teacher: - participation in classes – 45 hours Self-study hours and and collaborative learning: - reading literature and completing homework assignments – 50 hours - revision and preparation for the final examination - 5 hours Altogether: 100 hours (4 ECTS)

(po angielsku) The student W1: has advanced knowledge of contemporary American literature, and is familiar with its distinctive periods, genres and forms represented by selected American authors of the 20th and 21st centuries (K_W04)

(po angielsku) The student U1: is able to read and comprehend assigned literary texts written by modern American authors, from the major genres of fiction, poetry, prose, and drama (K_U02) U2: is able to place the studied works in a general historical and cultural context, recognizing the various genres and literary currents in American literature of the 20th and 21st centuries (K_U11) U3: can use appropriate terminology and methods to analyze and interpret works of contemporary American literature (K_U13)

(po angielsku) The student K1: is aware of the level of their knowledge of contemporary American letters and literary analysis skills, and understands the need for continuous practice. (K_K01)

(po angielsku) Successful completion of the requirements of the American Literature course from the previous semester.
