W1: has basic knowledge of the killing and letting die doctrine, doing and allowing doctrine, doctrine of double effect, various accounts of self-defense, balance of evils justification, such categories of conduct as actions, omissions, preventions, double preventions, causation
W2: knows main arguments and controversies in discussions about killing and letting die, self-defense, abortion, active and passive euthanasia, consequentialist justifications, deontological distinctions
W3: is familiar with contributions of the main scholars in the field (J.J. Thomson, J. McMahan, M. Otsuka, K. Kessler Ferzan, M.S. Moore etc.)
W4: is acquainted with fundamental problems and arguments in bioethics (abortion, euthanasia), morality (trolley problem, ducking harm) and law (self-defense)

U1: is able to reason and argue about legal and moral dilemmas concerning killing and letting die in the target language
U2: is capable of reasoning by analogy, analyzing arguments, recognizing the structure of moral and legal reasoning in the target language
U3: has basic skills in writing argumentative essays in the target language
U4: can explain the distinction between killing and letting die, doing and allowing, excusing and justifying, various accounts of self-defense in the target language
