Nauki podstawowe: Genetyka 1855-P1-NPG-S1Z
The subject is taught in the form of lectures, exercises and self-study. The basis is knowledge of biology at high school level. During classes, the student acquires knowledge of the basics of genetics, including the structure and properties of DNA and RNA, the structure of chromosomes and the molecular basis of mutagenesis, mechanisms of inheritance, molecular aspects of the inheritance of traits and diseases (monogenic dominant and recessive diseases, autosomal diseases and those linked to the X chromosome). During the exercises, the student acquires the skills to determine selected chromosome aberrations, classify genetic diseases, taking into account the mode of inheritance, and estimate the risk of disease occurrence in connection with environmental factors.

A.W9 – The student describes the genetic determinants of human blood groups and serological conflict in the RH system and main groups

A.U3 – The student classifies genetic diseases according to the method of inheritance and assesses the risk of disease manifestation based on the principles of inheritance and the influence of environmental factors
