Nauki w zakresie podstaw opieki pielęgniarskiej: Badania fizykalne 1855-P1-BFIZYK-S1
Didactic aims of the subject:
During the lectures the following topics will be discussed: - general and detailed subjective examination. Rules for its management and documentation. The importance of an interview regarding: main symptoms, course, current disease; accompanying symptoms; history of current and past diseases, potential risk factors, - general and detailed physical examination, physical examination techniques
assessment of the patient's condition, principles - the importance of the results of the subjective and physical examination in formulating the assessment of the patient's health for the purposes of nursing care.
Clinical exercises will include conducting a subjective examination of the patient, analyzing, interpreting the results for the purposes of nursing diagnosis, documenting the subjective examination, - physical examination, taking into account the patient's age and condition, using appropriate techniques to assess: skin, breast examination, peripheral lymph nodes, sense organs , head, chest, respiratory system, central and peripheral cardiovascular system, abdominal cavity, urinary system and genital organs, musculoskeletal system and nervous system, - interpreting and documenting the results of physical examination and its use in assessing the patient's health condition.
Lecture topics:
1. Principles of conducting and documenting subjective and objective examination;
2. Methods and techniques of comprehensive physical examination for obstetric care;
3. Methods of conducting a physical examination using IT or communication systems;
4. The importance of the results of the subjective and physical examination in formulating the assessment of the patient's health condition for the needs of nursing care.
The exercises are devoted to preparing the student for the physical and subjective examination of newborns, adults and geriatric people, as well as the interpretation and documentation of their results, which concern the examination of:
• Skin, appendages, head: sense organs, eye, ear; head, neck, thyroid, mouth, nose, teeth, lymph nodes;
• Genital examinations, breast examinations, newborn examinations;
• Nervous system and musculoskeletal system: joints, muscles;
• Circulatory system, ECG, lymphatic system;
• Respiratory system, digestive system, abdominal cavity.
Self-education is intended to develop the student's ability to independently acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of physical examination.
Preparation and development of written tasks:
• Perform a physical examination of an adult or child (your choice),
• Briefly describe the person on whom you performed the test,
• List the physical examinations you have performed,
• Record the obtained test results according to. SOAP schema,
• Propose an action plan appropriate to the condition of the examined person

0 = incorrect, 1 = contains errors, 2 = acceptable, 3 = good, 4 = very good
Passing self-study above 36 points - 70%

Exam - consists of: average of 2 grades (theoretical tests + practical tests)
Theoretical part - test with 4 distractors, 1 choice, about 40-50 questions, pass with 70% or more
Practical part – OSCE exam

According to the scoring from the checklist, passing after completing all mandatory points.
Self-education
Work evaluation criteria:
- detailed description of the examined person,
- detailed description of the subjective and physical examination performed,
- systematizing interview data in accordance with the SOAP scheme and proper documentation.
