Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and exercises.
The knowledge provided during lectures covers the basics of the most common developmental defects and neurological disorders in childhood. The lectures are intended to present the proper development of the child and the methods of its assessment used in pediatrics, taking into account the scales and basics of neurological assessment. They also explain the principles of broadly understood health prevention. The lectures will discuss the issues of cerebral palsy and dysraphic conditions of the spinal cord and meninges. During the exercises, issues related to proper development will be discussed - ontogenesis, movement disorders of central origin, neuromuscular diseases. The student will also learn about perinatal damage to peripheral nerves, craniocerebral injuries and neuromuscular diseases. During the exercises, students learn how to conduct a structured subjective examination (interview) of a child of any age. They analyze the course of the perinatal period and determine its impact on the child's development. They apply known development assessment methods to patients analyzed on the basis of recordings or to patients currently hospitalized.
