W cyklu 2023/24:
The subject is conducted in the form of lectures and exercises. Students taking classes have knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system and the physiology of exercise. They know the health and safety rules applicable in the Department and Clinic of Geriatrics. The lectures are intended to explain the specificity of geriatrics. Theories of aging and major geriatric problems will be presented, and attention will be paid to the issues of society aging. The specificity of geriatric physiotherapy, programming of physiotherapy for older patients, including the assumptions of the ICF will be discussed. During the lectures, the student will learn about the types of cognitive disorders. The exercises are devoted to the analysis of the health condition of a geriatric patient, in particular a comprehensive geriatric assessment, red flags in geriatrics, and the rules of transferring and moving an elderly person. The student will acquire basic knowledge and skills in the field of geriatrics - the human aging process, geriatric problems, the specific course of diseases, care and rehabilitation of elderly patients.
