The lecture is designed to familiarize students with the issues of administering first aid in various life and health-threatening situations, as well as the legal and ethical basis of its administration.
Exercises are devoted to learning resuscitation of adults and children based on the current BLS algorithm, learning the scheme of trauma examination of the injured person, as well as initial provision of wounds and stopping hemorrhage.

Lecture topics: 1. Introduction to first aid. Legal and ethical basis of first aid. 2 First aid in traffic accidents - general principles of action at the scene. 3. bleeding, hemorrhage and its taming. Wounds and their dressing. 4. fractures and injuries. Spinal injury. 5. first aid for: burns and frostbite, heat stroke and hypothermia. 6. first aid for poisoning, choking, epilepsy. 7. First aid for: electrocution, lightning, stinging, drowning. 8. chain of survival. Causes of SCA in children and adults. 9. BLS and ALS algorithms. Principles of safe use of AED. 10. Distinctions in first aid in children, pregnant women and the elderly. 11. issues of psychology in rescue. Psychology of the victim and rescuer. Psychology of the crowd.
Exercise topics: 1. learning resuscitation. BLS algorithm in adults. 2. learning CPR. BLS algorithm in children. 3.Trauma examination scheme. 4.Desmurgery. Superficial wounds and their supply. Taming of external hemorrhage. Pressure dressing. Tourniquet. 5.Exercises with AED

Test of 20 single-choice questions. Duration 20 minutes. Scored questions: 0 points wrong answer or no answer, 1 point correct answer.
Criteria for passing the test 60% correct answers
20 pts - a score of 5.0,
18-19 pts - grade 4.5,
16-17 pts - grade 4.0,
14-15 pts - grade 3.5,
12-13 pts - grade 3.0
0-11 - grade 2.0
The second term in the form of an oral exam conducted by the course coordinator.
Credit for exercises - credit
Based on observation of the student demonstrating the performance of the tasks specified by the assistant during the exercises.
Credit > 75% of correctly performed activities.
