Seminars are designed to acquire and consolidate knowledge in the field of imaging techniques used in oncological diagnostics and cancer therapy, familiarizing with the current devices that are used in radiotherapy and their capabilities and limitations.
Exercises are devoted to the acquisition of practical skills in the field of diagnosing and differentiating cancer in imaging tests and acquiring the basics of skills in the field of radiotherapy

1. The workload related to activities requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is:
- participation in seminars: 2 hours

Student:
W1: knows physical basis of non-invasive imaging methods (B.W8)
W2: has knowledge related to contemporary diagnostic imaging methods, particularly with respect to:
1) radiological symptomatology of individual diseases,
2) instrumental methods and imaging techniques used in treatment procedures,
3) indications, contraindications, and preparation of patients for different types of imaging tests as well as contraindications for the use of contrast agents (F.W10)

Student:
U1: draws conclusions on relationships between anatomical structures on the basis of diagnostic examinations, particularly in the scope of radiology (plain x-ray imaging, imaging using contrast agents, computed tomography and nuclear magnetic resonance) (A.U4)
U2: evaluates the harmfulness of ionising radiation doses and follow the principles of radiation protection (B.U2)

Wymagania wstępne
A student starting education in the subject of diagnostic imaging technique in oncology should have knowledge in the field of human topographic anatomy, the basics of medical physics, including the physical and biological basis of the interaction of ionizing radiation with matter, and the principles of radiation protection.
