7.3. Powikłania leczenia inwazyjnego w onkologii 1655-LekM5ONKPLI-J

The classes of complications of invasive treatment in oncology in Oncology Module at the Faculty of Medicine, Nicholaus Copernicus University are delivered in the form of lectures and tutorials.
The subjects of the lecture are as follows:
1. Medical complication vs. medical malpractice/
2. Most common general and local complications.

Tutorials have a place in the Department of Thoracic Surgery and Tumours, Centre of Oncology, Bydgoszcz
During practical excercises students participate actively in all forms of work done by a thoracic surgeon in the department.
1.Operating theatre
Students can observe surgical procedures, ask questions and receive detailed explanations. There is no possibility to assist a surgeon.
2.Outpatient clinic
Students are acquainted with an ambulatory form of medical care (physical examination, qualification for treatment, follow-up in lung, pleural and mediastinal malignancies).
3.Bronchoscopic room
Students can observe a preparation for bronchoscopy and the technique of this endoscopic examination. They are also familiarize with same modern bronchoscopic methods such as autofluorescence bronchoscopy (AFI) or a transbronchial needle aspiration biopsy under ultrasound guidance.
