W1: knows clinical presentation of most common diseases of haematopoietic system in children (C.W34)
W2: knows the principles of laboratory diagnostics in the field of paediatric haematology (differentiation of causes of anaemia and classification of bleeding disorders) (E.W40)
W3: describes the causes, symptoms, methods of diagnostics and treatment of the most common haematological diseases of children: anaemia and bleeding disorders (E.W3)
W4: knows the causes, symptoms, diagnostic methods and management of genetically determined haematological diseases (haemophilia, spherocytosis, thalassemia) (E.W35)
W5: lists the most common life-threatening conditions in paediatric haematology (acute bleeding in bleeding disorders, severe anaemia, autoimmune haemolytic anaemia, haemolytic crisis) and the recommended management (E.W6)

U1: recognizes the role of immune reactions in blood diseases in children (C.U8)
U2: links tissue and organ damage together with clinical symptoms of blood diseases (anaemia, bleeding diathesis, haemolysis), medical history and lab results (C.U11)
U3: can recommend appropriate lifestyle to prevent some blood diseases (iron deficiency, vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency, vitamin K deficiency) (D.U9)
U4: can conduct a medical interview with a child and his family (E.U2)
U5: can perform a physical examination of an ill child at any age (E.U4)
U6: is able to perform differential diagnosis of the most common diseases of children in the field of haematology (E.U12)
U7: can suggest basic diagnostic tests and plan of differential diagnosis in blood diseases in children as well as implement initial treatment (E.U16)
U8: interprets the results of laboratory tests in the most common haematological problems (haemolysis, anaemia, bleeding disorders) (E.U24)
U9: assists in transfusions of blood products (E.U30)

(po angielsku) Student is expected to have knowledge of basic (preclinical) sciences (in particular: genetics, laboratory diagnostics, immunology as well as knowledge and skills in the basics of paediatrics: healthy child development, physical examination of a healthy child, nutrition of a child, medical care for healthy children)
