The aim of teaching the subject is to acquire knowledge in the scope of: - etiopathogenesis and clinical forms of selected occupational diseases, including those of allergic origin, - principles of diagnostic procedures: collecting medical history, allergological examination, in vivo and laboratory diagnostic tests, simulated work test, interpretation of allergological test results, - familiarisation with environmental monitoring for the purposes of allergological diagnostics, - characteristics of occupational allergens, - methods of treating allergic occupational diseases and legal principles of adjudicating occupational diseases.
1. Epidemiology of occupational allergy and clinical forms.
2. Characteristics of occupational allergens.
3. Diagnostics of occupational allergy.
4. Occupational allergy to low- and high-molecular-weight compounds (nickel, metals, formalin, latex, isocyanates, drugs, plastics and others).
5. Occupational allergic diseases of the nose, sinuses and eyes.
6. Occupational bronchial asthma.
7. Occupational anaphylaxis and allergic alveolitis.
8. Occupational allergic contact dermatitis, contact urticaria.
9. Legal principles of ruling in occupational allergy.
10. Pneumoconiosis.
11. Occupational diseases caused by physical factors.
12. Infectious diseases of occupational origin.
13. Neoplastic diseases of occupational origin.
Całkowity nakład pracy studenta
1. Mandatory hours carried out with the participation of a teacher:
- participation in lectures: 6 hours
- consultations with people conducting classes: 0.5 hour
- conducting a credit test: 0.5 hour
The workload associated with classes requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is 7 hours, which corresponds to 0.28 ECTS points.
2. Student workload balance:
- participation in lectures: 6 hours
- consultations: 1 hour
- preparation for the credit test and conducting the credit test: 2 hours + 1 hour = 3 hours
The total student workload is 10 hours, which corresponds to 0.4 ECTS points.
3. Workload related to the conducted scientific research:
- reading the indicated literature: 2 hours
- participation in lectures (taking into account the methodology of scientific research, research results, studies in the field of occupational medicine): 6 hours
- preparation for crediting in the scope of research and scientific aspects in the field of occupational medicine): 0.5 hour
- consultations taking into account scientific studies in the field of occupational medicine: 0.5 hour
The total student workload related to the conducted scientific research is 9 hours, which corresponds to 0.36 ECTS points
4. Time required to prepare and participate in the assessment process: - preparation for crediting: 0.5 hours + 0.5 hours = 1 hour, which corresponds to 0.04 ECTS points
5. Balance of the student's practical workload: - participation in lectures: 6 hours The total student's practical workload is 6 hours, which corresponds to 0.24 points ECTS
6. Time required to complete the compulsory internship: not applicable.
Efekty uczenia się - wiedza
W1: recognizes occupational allergic diseases of the respiratory system, eyes and skin (E.W7.).
W2: characterizes allergic diagnostic tests and knows how to interpret them (E.W7.).
W3: lists basic issues of prevention and principles of conduct in the event of occupational exposure to hazardous and harmful factors (E.W32.).
W4: lists methods of preventing occupational allergies and legal principles of ruling in occupational allergies. (G.W5.).
Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności
U1: can interpret the results of allergy tests diagnostic (E.U24.). U2: can keep related medical records with the work of an occupational medicine doctor (E.U38.).
Efekty uczenia się - kompetencje społeczne
K1: is aware that the regulations in force in Occupational Medicine facilities are subject to constant modifications and understands, that it is necessary to constantly update the possessed knowledge. (K_K01).
K2: can take care of his own safety and that of the environment and co-workers during work, regardless of its nature (K_K02).

Wymagania wstępne
Basic information in the field of internal diseases, ENT, dermatology and allergology, including symptomatology and diagnostics of occupational diseases. Knowledge of pathophysiological processes including immunology of allergic diseases, intolerance reactions and toxic mechanisms.
