(po angielsku) 1. The workload associated with classes requiring direct participation of academic teachers is:
- participation in seminars: 10 hours
- participation in exercises: 15 hours
- conducting the assessment: 1 hour

(po angielsku) After completing the course, the student has knowledge of the history of transplantology, the organization of organ procurement and transplantation in Poland and around the world, legal regulations for organ procurement and transplantation, directions of development of transplantology in the future, the concept, pathophysiology and diagnostics of brain death, organ procurement techniques and kidney transplantation techniques, the effects of immunosuppressive drugs, immediate and distant complications after organ transplantation.
W1: knows the principles of qualifying patients for organ transplantation (F.W4).
W2: knows the genetic basis of donor and recipient selection and transplant immunology (C.W22)
W3: knows the principles of tissue and cell donation promotion, indications for transplantation of blood-containing organs, tissues and hematopoietic cells, treatment complications and principles of long-term care after transplantation (F.W21.)
W4: knows the legal regulations regarding transplants (G.W9)
W5: knows the principles of making a suspicion and diagnosing brain death (F.W23)
W6: knows the principles of pharmacotherapy for patients with renal failure and indications for renal replacement therapy (E.W8)
W7: knows the principles of monitoring the patient in the postoperative period (F.W7).
W8: describes the principles of perioperative safety, preparation of the patient for surgery, performance of general and local anesthesia and controlled sedation (F.W6.);
Efekty uczenia się - umiejętności
(po angielsku) After completing the course, the student is able to perform a full subjective and objective examination (medical history and physical examination) of the patient after organ transplantation and to interpret the results of laboratory and imaging tests.
U3: takes an interview with an adult, including an older person, using skills related to the content, process and perception of communication, taking into account biomedical and patient perspectives (E.U1.); U4: conducts a complete and focused physical examination of the adult adapted to the specific clinical situation, (E.U5.).

- is aware of the importance of transplantology in the treatment of end-stage organ failure
- accepts the concept of human death and brain death
- recognizes and formulates ethical dilemmas related to transplantology
- is aware of the importance of social education in the field of transplantology

K2: taking action towards the patient based on ethical principles, with awareness of social conditions and limitations resulting from the disease (K_K04 )
Metody dydaktyczne
(po angielsku) Seminars covering the history of transplantology, organization of organ procurement and transplantation in Poland and across the world, legal regulations on organ procurement and transplantation, directions of future development in transplantation, concept, pathomechanism and diagnosis of brain death, organ harvesting kidney transplants technique , immunosuppressive drugs, direct and distant complications after organ transplants.
Exercises: 15 hours, at the Department of Transplantology and General Surgery. They include participation in medical briefing and wordround, examination of assigned patients and evaluation of additional test results, discussion of patients along with an assistant lecturer, seminar and discussion.

- have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- have knowledge and be able to use knowledge of preclinical subjects to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms accompanying organ failure and the histocompatibility system
- have basic knowledge of subjective and objective examination.
