Seminars (15 hours) are designed to acquire and consolidate knowledge in the field of biological treatment in dermatology, assimilation of basic knowledge in the field of molecular basics of biological treatment. Taking into account the appropriate indications and contraindications, students qualify patients with dermatological diseases for biological treatment. In addition, students will learn about current biological treatment programs for patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

W3: knows the issues of detailed organ pathology, macro- and microscopic images and the clinical course of pathomorphological changes in individual organs (C.W31.)
W4: knows the clinical forms of the most common diseases of individual systems and organs, metabolic diseases and disorders of water and electrolyte balance, endocrine and acid-base (C.W34.)
W5: knows and understands the basic features, environmental and epidemiological conditions of the most common skin diseases (E.W35.)
W6: knows the legal regulations and basic methods regarding a medical experiment and conducting other medical research, including basic methods of data analysis (G.W8.)

U3: is able to select drugs in appropriate doses in order to correct pathological phenomena in the body and in individual organs (C.U14.)
U4: can use pharmaceutical guides and databases on medicinal products (C.U17.)
U5: can take into account the subjective needs and expectations of the patient resulting from socio-cultural conditions in the process of therapeutic treatment (D.U1.)
U6: can provide advice on compliance with therapeutic recommendations and a healthy lifestyle (D.U9.)
U7: can analyze the possible side effects of individual drugs and their interactions (E.U17.)
U8: can propose individualisation of the current therapeutic guidelines and other methods of treatment in the case of ineffectiveness or contraindications to standard therapy (E.U18.)

Wymagania wstępne
A student starting education in the subject "biological therapy in dermatology" should have knowledge and skills previously acquired in the classes of human immunology and physiology.

Kryteria oceniania
Each student's absence from the seminar should be excused, and the content should be credited to the academic teacher on the date agreed with him.
During each seminar, a written test (open questions) will be carried out on the knowledge of the issues applicable to the seminar. The list of issues will be made available to Students at least one week before the start of the seminars.
The condition for passing the subject is obtaining a positive grade from the written test, covering the seminar issues.
The seminars evaluate: knowledge and activity W1 – W6, U1 – U8 and extended observation of social competences with assessment criteria (0-10 points;> 50%): K1 – K4
The minimum percentage for obtaining a pass / pass mark is 60%
Uniform criteria apply to all final examinations or credits, including re-examinations.
