The goal of the practice in the field of Open Health is:
1. getting acquainted theoretically and, if possible, practically with the principles of providing first aid in emergency,
2. help in carrying out minor surgeries by a doctor,
3. assist the doctor receiving the patients in the Outpatient Clinic and at home visits,
4. acquainting the student with the system of organization of laboratory and diagnostic services
in open healthcare, including aspects of ethical and moral responsibility as well as formal and legal responsibility,
5. instructions regarding health and safety at work, with particular regard to the specifics of the laboratory concerned,
6. acquaint the student with the scope of laboratory and diagnostic services (research and methods, so-called analytical, chemical, biological, cytochemical, hematological, serological, bacteriological, toxicological, etc., basic and highly specialized research),
7. acquainting the student with the principles of cooperation of the treating physician with the laboratory (test orders, methods of collecting material, entering and registering, and transferring results),
8. acquaint the student with the organization of diagnostic and radiological services in open medicine.
The purpose of the internship at the Emergency Ambulance Station or at the Hospital Emergency Department is:
1. getting to know the organization of the Emergency Department,
2. participation in the therapeutic activity provided in the above unit:
- outpatient operation,
- ambulance departures,
- R ambulance interventions,
3. diagnosis and treatment in emergencies,
4. mastering the principles of wound care, suturing, fracture management and burns.

Practice lasts 4-weeks, includes a 6-hour workday.
As part of the internship, the student is required to complete 120 hours - 30 hours in emergency medical facilities, 90 hours in open medicine.

W4 - he/she is familiar with the rules of health promotion, its tasks, and main directions of activity, with particular emphasis on the knowledge of the meaning of healthy lifestyle components,
W5 - he is aware of legal regulations concerning healthcare services, patients' rights, the fundamentals of performing the profession of a physician and the operation of a physician's self-government,
W6 - he/she knows fundamental regulations concerning organization and financial management of health services, public health insurance and principles of organization of medical entity enterprises,
W7 - the student understands the significance of verbal and non-verbal communication in the process of the communication with patients and the concept of trust in the interaction with a patient.

U6 - Performs a resting standard electrocardiogram,
U7 - Treats external bleeding,
U8 - Adheres to the principles of aseptic and antiseptic,
U9 - Provides care for a simple wound, places and changes a sterile surgical wound dressing.
U10 - builds an atmosphere of trust throughout the treatment process,
U11 - conducts a supervised medical interview with an adult patient,
U12 - conducts a supervised medical interview with a child and his family,
U13 - performs balance examinations,
U14 - maintains under supervision the medical records of the patient,
U 15- performs selected diagnostic procedures (blood pressure measurement, glucose measurement with a glucometer, ECG

Wymagania wstępne
Second-year medical students are required to complete a 3-week (90 hours) internship in open medicine (family doctor) and a 1-week (30 hours) internship in emergency medicine.
Each participant in the internship is required to have a valid health booklet for sanitary and epidemiological purposes, hepatitis B vaccination and accident insurance for accident insurance.
Each student receives a personal student placement card containing the internship program; this card in combination with a valid student ID also serves as a referral.
On the abovementioned the card confirms completion of the internship.
The student's absence from work may be justified by formal sick leave. If you are ill for more than 1 week, you will need to extend your internship for an appropriate period.

Kryteria oceniania
The student internship supervisor should be a doctor with appropriate professional and general preparation.
A student under the supervision of a guardian should perform all care activities in the Outpatient Clinic, should be included in the performance of laboratory tests and tests performed in the Radiology and Pathomorphology Departments.
The condition of crediting the professional holiday practice after 2 years of unified master's degree medical studies is:
1. confirmation of the acquisition of the skills listed in the detailed internship program (each completed skill and / or procedure)
2. reliability in performing tasks and professionalism.
Assessment is based on the data included in the work placement booklet and confirmed by the signature of the work placement supervisor.
