Seminars on "Scientific discoveries and the possibilities of their use in medicine and the Nobel Prize in Medicine" present the definition of scientific discovery and the impact of scientific breakthroughs on the development of humanity. Seminars using examples of scientific breakthroughs in the history of medicine show how scientific discoveries have changed the way in the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of diseases throughout history. The seminars are also designed to familiarize themselves with the achievements of Nobel laureates in the field of physiology or medicine, awarded for making significant scientific discoveries in this field. Seminars are designed to acquire and systematize knowledge about conducting scientific, experimental and clinical, observational, prospective and randomized research. The seminars present knowledge of the ability to interpret the results of scientific discoveries, critically evaluate them, draw conclusions and apply them in practice. On the example of scientific discoveries in the field of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis, the development of diagnostic methods for heart disease, advances in invasive cardiology and the results of research in the field of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, the seminars present the possibilities of applying scientific discoveries in everyday clinical practice.
