The seminars are aimed at acquiring and consolidating knowledge of the structure and principles of conducting research, formulating research problems, types of research and their organization. Classes are devoted to the acquisition of practical skills to interpret and understand the research process, formulate hypotheses and analyze the research problem.
1. Clinical trials.
2. Types of clinical trials.
3. Introduction to statistics in clinical trials. Basic aspects of medical statistics and interpretation of research results. Survey research methodology.
4. Structure and construction of scientific articles. Types of scientific articles.
5. Designing clinical trials. Writing a paper – practical classes.
6. The scientist profession – how and where to publish?
7. How to prepare a scientific presentation for a conference? - practical aspect.
8. Scientific databases. Bibliometrics.
9. Pharmacovigilance. Monitored therapy.
10. Research that influenced the development of medicine. Nobel Prize winners in medicine.
11. Scientific information about drugs and poisonings. Databases, application programs.
12. Final exam.

1. The workload related to classes requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is:
• participation in seminars: 6 hours
• participation in exercises: 18 hours
The workload related to classes requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is 24 hours, which corresponds to 1 ECTS point
2. Balance of student workload:
• participation in seminars: 6 hours
• participation in exercises: 18 hours
• preparation for exercises (including reading the indicated literature): 8 hours
• preparation for and passing the exam: 9 + 1 = 10 hours
The total student workload is 42.5 hours, which corresponds to 1.7 ECTS points
3. Workload related to scientific research:
• reading selected scientific literature: 5 hours
• participation in seminars (taking into account research results and scientific studies in the field of scientific research methodology): 5 hours
• participation in exercises (taking into account the results of scientific studies in the field of scientific research methodology): 10 hours
• preparation for passing the exam (including:
scientific studies in the field of scientific research methodology): 4 hours
The total student workload related to research is 24 hours, which corresponds to 0.96 ECTS points
4. Time required to prepare for and participate in the assessment process:
• preparation for passing: 9 + 1 = 10 hours (0.4 ECTS points)
5. Balance of the student's practical workload:
• participation in classes: 18 hours, which corresponds to 0.72 ECTS points
