Introduction to European Union Law 1300-IEUL-KPP

(po angielsku) 1. Contact hours (with a lecturer) - 10 hours 2. Individual work : - time devoted to preparation to classes: reading articles and other documents provided by the lecturer, analysing case-law and legislation, researching domestic legislation, preparing for discussion - 45 hours 3. Time necessary to prepare for assessment (evaluation) process- 45 hours Total number of hours - 100 = 4 ECTS

(po angielsku) tudent : W1: acquires knowledge on the development from a Community of 6 to a Union of 28 EU Member States W2: acquires detailed knowledge on the functional interplay between the European Commission, the Councils, the Parliament and the Court of Justice of the EU W3: acquires knowledge on the special features of EU law, such as W4: s supremacy over national law and its direct effect; - understand the functioning of the main actors and policy-making processes involved in European Union

(po angielsku) U1: student analyses case-studies and is able to identify, interpret and apply legal norms; U2: student is able to use acquired knowledge to critically analyse and present opinion concerning specific legal problems emerging from European integration; U3: student has enhanced argumentative skills, ability to publically express opinion in English;

(po angielsku) K1: student is prepared to work in a team, share views, lead and take part in discussion; K2: student is able to continue self-study and deepen his/her knowledge using interdisciplinary and comparative tools, in order to improve future professional career;

(po angielsku) Methods used during the lecture: 1. Elements of a conventional lecture (presentation given by the lecturer) 2. Discussion (brainstorming, pair and group discussion, panel discussion) 3. Case-study 4. Quizes, e-learning
