Zoonosis 7100-ZOO-5-SJ
This laboratory-based course is conducted as a theoretical part. The teacher presents topics related to the course curriculum. Students also complete written assignments assigned by the teacher.
Course topics: Zoonoses (zoonoses - anthropozoonoses), including anthroponoses - reversible zoonoses, in the context of serious infectious diseases in humans and animals, and the bodies responsible for registering and supervising these diseases. Zoonoses originating from farm animals, companion animals, game animals, and free-range animals, as well as foodstuffs, including prion, viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases - epidemiology and characteristics of the mechanisms and routes of their spread. A detailed description of zoonoses specific to European Union countries and Poland, according to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC), as well as selected most dangerous viral zoonoses. Procedures for the prevention and elimination of zoonoses, including zoonoses from the EFSA and ECDC list.

Assessment criteria
The final grade is a composite of the written assessment covering the material presented in class and the grade for the written report on the topic assigned by the instructor. The final grade is a weighted average of all grades earned during the semester.
Grading Criteria:
Failing: <60
Satisfactory: 60-70%
Satisfactory plus: 71-80%
Good: 81-87%
Good plus: 88-94%
Very good: >95%
The same rules and grading criteria apply to retakes.
