History of Political Institutions 2751-PL-S2-1-HIP
Lecture
The purpose is to present the history of political institutions in comparative approach. Special attention will be paid to the presentation of institutions in practice. The chronological scope includes events from antiquity until the present, however, the history of institutions of 18th- 20th century will be emphasized. Spatial scope refers to the European culture area, allowing for its reception on different continents. The analysis of the institution of totalitarian state will include political regimes from outside of Europe, inter alia those based on the Islamic fundamentalism, such as Afghanistan. The problem of the correct forming of political institutions will be shown in the macro- and micro-system approach. The problems of decentralization, and especially regionalization will be shown as the process of political decision-taking.
