(in Polish) The last of the wild: European protected areas 2600-TLW-GC-2-S2
The aim of the lecture is to familiarize students with the characteristics of various climatic and topographically valuable areas of Europe. These areas may have the status of national parks, protected landscape areas and nature reserves. The subject of the study are selected national parks (out of over 460 established in Europe) and the most important landscape parks and nature reserves. The physical conditions of the environment, flora and fauna are discussed and analyzed, with particular emphasis on endemic and endangered species, methods of active protection or passive protection, as well as the conditions of development and making these areas available to tourists. In some cases, cultural elements are also important, which exist when the protection of places dates back to the distant past. All countries in Europe are taken into account, except those where, due to their small areas, no protected areas have been designated.
The laboratory prepares students to their own analyze selected protected areas and prepare a presentation that takes into account the characteristics of the environments according to the criteria adopted during the lecture.
