(in Polish) Scientific publishing and successful grant application 2600-SPBIOL-1-S2
The goal of the exercises is to write a short scientific article based on the student’s own research results forming the basis of their master’s thesis.
Students will acquire the following skills:
searching for scientific articles,
assessing the quality of scientific papers and critically evaluating presented research results,
using the Web of Science Core Collection database,
finding information about journal evaluation (impact factor, ranking lists of journals in a given discipline, points awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education),
finding information about journals: impact factor, self-citation, predatory journals, etc.,
understanding the structure of a scientific paper,
formulating research hypotheses,
using tables and figures in scientific writing,
avoiding and identifying common errors in academic writing,
using software for managing bibliographic databases and generating reference lists automatically,
creating automatic tables of contents in MS Word,
applying the acquired knowledge in writing a master’s thesis,
writing a scientific paper as part of a team.

In the final assignment, the student must demonstrate acquired skills:
Satisfactory (3.0): 60–70% of required skills,
Satisfactory plus (3.5): 71–80%,
Good (4.0): 81–87%,
Good plus (4.5): 88–94%,
Very good (5.0): above 94%.
