European protected areas 2600-EPABIOL-2-S2
The aim of the lecture is to introduce the principles of nature conservation and the characteristics of European areas that are valuable for nature and diverse in terms of climate and topography. Topics include physical environmental conditions, flora and fauna—with particular emphasis on endemic and endangered species—conservation methods (active and passive), and conditions for the management and tourist accessibility of these areas. The laboratory component prepares students to independently analyze selected protected areas and to create a presentation covering environmental characteristics based on the criteria established during the lectures.
