Specialisation seminar in culture: Ethics in cultural and literary discourses 2510-f2ENG2S-SSC-ECL

The aim of the seminar is to expand students’ knowledge, skills and social competences in cultural studies. The discussion will focus on ethical dilemmas in contemporary culture. The issues discussed will be the following: identity, body, love, old age, ethnicity, environment, religion, media, etc.

Contact hours with teacher: - participation in classes - 30 hrs Self-study hours: - preparation for the classes, reading literature – 70 hours - preparation for the test – 25 hours Altogether 125 hrs (5 ECTS)

W1 - The graduate is familiar with the most recent trends in the development of philology (K_W06) W2 - The graduate has in-depth knowledge of various cultural theories (K_W08, K_W09)

U1 - The graduate is able to critically analyze and interpret various texts by means of selected terminology and appropriate methodology (K_U13) U2 - The graduate is able to use various communication means and new technologies to carry out his or her research and present the outcomes in English (K_U04).
