The course aims to present the current state of scientific knowledge about lying and truth-telling. We will also discuss the methods of veracity assessment and their accuracy. The main theories and results of the most essential research in the field will be presented. Classes will also include elements of workshops, during which students will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of cues to deception and veracity assessment skills.

Assessment criteria
1. Students enrolled in this course will prepare a PP presentation of the results of a study described in a scientific paper. Apart from the description of a study (introduction, hypotheses, methods, results, discussion), the presentation should contain a critical paper analysis. Presenters should also prepare topics for discussion for the group (80% of grade). The order of presentations will be assigned randomly during the first meeting.
2. Taking part in discussions and classroom activities (20% of grade)
3. Regular attendance (missing 1 class session allowed).
