Online surveying. Rules and good practices. 2404-P-MF-OS
The course aims to present both the theoretical and practical aspects of online survey data collection methods. Many students use this method to conduct research for their theses, often overlooking the rules that determine whether a survey will be clear and understandable for respondents, and whether it will allow the collection of a high-quality data. The principles of conducting quantitative research online will be discussed in the context of traditional methods, highlighting the differences, strengths, and limitations of the approach. As part of the course, students will independently conduct an online survey, and then analyze and present the results.
1. In what situations do we collect data online: marketing research, social studies, scientific research.
2. Basic criteria for classifying research and concepts related to conducting different types of research.
3. Differences in designing, analyzing data, and presenting results between marketing and scientific research.
4. The specifics of online research: why it is not possible to directly "translate" traditional research into an online format.
5. Choosing the right technique for the studied phenomenon and target group.
6. The evolution of online research: opportunities changing with the rapid development of technology.
7. Factors influencing data quality in online research: what and how data can and should be controlled.
8. Limitations of online research.
9. Designing and conducting an online survey: a project carried out in small groups, with successive stages presented and discussed during the course.
