Construction and Use of MMPI-2 2404-P-MF-KZMMPI-Sj
The course introduces you to the construction and use of the Minnesota Multidimensional Personality Inventory. This method is interesting both for people specializing in psychometrics, due to the original method of construction and the use of many interesting techniques to improve the properties of individual scales, and for clinicians looking for a tool for assessing a disturbed personality resistant to falsification.
The first part of the course is a lecture. The principles of test construction and the history of work on the Polish adaptation are presented, the specificity of creating standards is discussed. Techniques of securing the test against manipulation by the subject are discussed (MMPI is considered the best secured questionnaire in this respect) and practical aspects of test credibility assessment. Subsequent scales of the questionnaire are discussed, with a strong emphasis on the knowledge of the diagnostic criteria according to ICD-10 in comparison with the classic Kraepelin psychiatric terminology, which was the basis for the creation of the MMPI.
In addition to the lecture, the course includes group work on case studies and formulation of a clinical diagnosis. Participants have the opportunity to learn to independently develop cases of people with personality disorders, neurotic, psychotic and affective.
The lecture part ends with a test, then after the seminar and workshop part, the participants create an independent opinion based on the results of the MMPI.
