Controversy in psychological & cognitive sciences
2404-P-MF-CPCS
At the first class, the Students are introduced to the methods of discussion and searching for source materials. Then they form groups of 2 or 4 (depending on the number of participants in class). Each group chooses a discussion topic and sets a thesis statement. Then each group divides into 2 subgroups, one of which defends the thesis (prepares and presents supporting arguments), and the other tries to contradict it (prepares and presents arguments refuting the thesis). At each class, 1 group presents the prepared arguments supported with conclusions from scientific research. The other Students listen and ask questions, followed by a discussion ending with a vote.
