Psychopathology with elements of diseases of children and adolescents 2404-P-4-PK-PDM
The main goal of the lecture for psychology students III/IV is:
1) Presentation of basic concepts regarding establishing norms in mental processes and methods of determining abnormalities in thinking and behavior in the neonatal, infancy and early childhood period.
2) Models for the classification of mental disorders in the form of a set of ICD-10 codes in ICD-11 (International Classification Diseases - 10th, 11th Revision) and DSM-5 (Diagnostic Criteria DSM-5®) will be approximate.
3) Basic symptoms of disorders in the field of psychiatry and psychology will be presented, classified according to the requirements of the National Health Fund in force in Poland in the ICD-10 classification.
4) New proposals for mental illnesses and disorders in the announced new version of ICD-11 will be presented.
5) Methods of collecting data needed to establish the correct diagnosis and the basis for therapeutic strategies in individual diseases will be discussed.
6) The lecture will discuss four concepts of the development of mental disorders: biological, cognitive, psychoanalytic and learning.
Lecture topics:
1. Introduction to psychopathology in terms of the definition of norms and concepts defining pathology. Nosological systems in the form of ICD 10, DSM, ICPC classifications, references from Scientific Societies. Basics of psychological and psychiatric diagnosis. Judicial and legal elements.
2. Paradigms in explaining the development of mental illnesses: biological (pathophysiology, biochemistry, genetics), social (sociology), psychological, holistic (biopsychosocial).
Therapeutic paradigms: psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, social rehabilitation, electrotherapy (electroshock) and magnetotherapy
3. General psychopathology of adults, basic concepts of health, disease, symptom, syndrome, syndrome.
4.Psychopathology of abnormalities of cognitive functions: attention, memory, perception, awareness, thinking)
5. Psychopathology of non-psychotic disorders: disorders of emotional processes, motivation and behavior
6. Anxiety (neurotic), stress-related, psychosomatic disorders: causative mechanisms, diagnosis and therapy
7. Affective (mood) disorders: etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
8. Psychopathology of psychotic disorders: schizophrenia, delusional diseases: etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
9. Dementia syndromes with organic brain damage: etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
10. Addiction-related disorders, behavioral disorders: etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
11. Eating disorders (anorexia, obesity), sleep disorders, personality disorders: etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
12. Psychopathology of children and adolescents: classification, nomenclature, occurrence
13. Parent-child relationship disorders
14. Psychosomatic disorders in children and adolescents, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy
15. The functioning and role of bonds among children, adolescents in the family, in the group, in society. The year is a presentation of basic concepts regarding establishing norms in mental processes and ways of determining abnormalities in thinking and behavior. . The lecture will discuss four concepts of the development of mental disorders: biological, cognitive, psychoanalytic and learning.

Assessment criteria
Written exam - a test of 20 questions with four answer options. Test duration 30 minutes. 13 correct answers are required to pass.
