- General structure of the nervous system (basic division): central and peripheral nervous system - repetition of the basics from BMZ classes and more detailed development
- Sensory pathways and sense organs (including: pain perception)
- Neuroplasticity (its causes and manifestations)
- Structures of the nervous system related to the control of voluntary movements
- The role of the nervous system in the control of circadian rhythms, psychophysiological correlates of sleep and wakefulness. The brain and altered states of consciousness.
- Nervous system and endocrine system (here also: the role of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland)
- Biological basis of emotions, motivation and decision-making
- Selected issues regarding the neural correlates of memory and language
- Modern methods of neuroimaging of the structure and functional organization of the brain

Assessment criteria
The basis for passing the course is a written exam from the lectures and the mind-maps that will be prepared and presented in small teams by students. This is a multiple choice test. Criteria for individual exam grades:
Less than 60% - 2.0
60-69% - 3.0
70-74% - 3 plus
75-84% - 4.0
85-90% - 4 plus
91-100% - 5.0
