Problems of contemporary youth 2403-PE-302-OWs1
Problems of Contemporary Youth is a course aimed at analyzing the most current and real challenges faced by the young generation. The topics of the classes are co-created by students – they initiate discussions by selecting problems that are most relevant to them and their surroundings.
The main thematic areas include:
Issues related to media and the internet, such as online hate, sexting, stalking, identity theft, and social media addiction.
New forms of addiction, including vaping, "snus," compulsive shopping, and addiction to Instagram and TikTok.
Contemporary youth crises, such as depression, loneliness, obesity, and social rejection based on sexual orientation or other factors.
The course is conducted in a discussion-based format, where students present short, 3-minute speeches on selected topics, followed by discussions aimed at analyzing the problem, defining it, and proposing solutions, including prevention programs. Each student prepares two presentations per semester.
