Learning outcomes - knowledge
(in Polish) IJ_W01 explains the democratic and social functions of investigative journalism and critically discusses its relationship with political and economic power, using case evidence (K_W03, K_W05)
IJ_W02 distinguishes major investigative reporting strategies (source cultivation, document work, FOI/records requests, undercover techniques, cross‑border collaborations, data‑driven investigations) and indicates their strengths/limitations (K_W05, K_W06)
IJ_W03 identifies key legal and ethical constraints (privacy, defamation, data protection, source protection, conflicts of interest, safety) and justifies decisions using the public‑interest test (K_W06)
Learning outcomes - skills
(in Polish) IJ_U01 designs a verification plan for a selected case/story (triangulation, source credibility assessment, document authentication, timeline of evidence) and articulates risks and mitigation (K_U01, K_U02, K_U05)
IJ_U02 analyses an investigative case study by reconstructing the reporting process (methods, evidence chain, newsroom constraints) and evaluating the societal impact (K_U01, K_U06)
IJ_U03 prepares and delivers a structured 10‑minute presentation in English (slides + annotated references) and moderates a short discussion, responding to questions and counter‑arguments (K_U06, K_U07)
IJ_U04 produces a concise investigative pitch/memo (problem statement, hypotheses, source map, ethical/legal risks, safety considerations) as a draft supporting the presentation topic (K_U01, K_U05, K_U07)
Learning outcomes - social competencies
(in Polish) IJ_K01 participates in seminar debate responsibly: argues with evidence, gives and receives peer feedback, and respects discussion norms (K_K01, K_U06)
IJ_K02 acts according to standards of academic and professional integrity (transparent sourcing, citation, disclosure of tools/support, including AI) and recognises the journalist’s responsibility to the public interest (K_K04, K_K07)
