Local social policy and its institutions 2400-OG-EN-LSPaI
The reconstruction or modernisation of European welfare states considers diverse civil rights systems, institutional systems, support tools, common trends and institutional formats. The course will present the key challenges facing local governments in social policy. It will therefore discuss the challenges associated with the implementation of the concepts of active citizenship, governance, policies based on social services, multisectorality, the use of the potential of the third sector, deinstitutionalisation, the integration of knowledge and access to social services dedicated to different categories of citizens, the role of language and narrative in social policy, diagnostic and strategic challenges, as well as concepts in the field of activation and reintegration. The course will present the experiences of one-stop shop institutions, including problems related to the modernisation of established social assistance institutions. Course participants will receive information on good practices in building local initiatives to solve specific problems
