The course is implemented in the form of lectures, self-study, practical classes and professional practice. Lectures aim to familiarise students with basic gynaecological problems that accompany women throughout their lives. Issues discussed concern the role of nurse/midwife in ensuring continuity of care, preparation for procreation and problems of the menopause period. Within self-study, students deepen their knowledge on sexual initiation, menstrual cycle, genital tract infections and care for patients in menopause and cancer. They also present prophylactic activities in the scope of reproductive organ and breast cancer occurrence.During practical classes and professional practice, based on students' basic theoretical knowledge, issues and procedures in gynaecological practice are discussed and implemented. During classes, tasks are carried out based on the role that a nurse plays in the therapeutic team. During classes, students complete nursing and medical documentation and participate in daily work with patients.

W3: Knows principles of preparation, care during and after diagnostic tests and procedures in gynaecology - D.W5.
W4: Discusses nursing standards and procedures used in gynaecological care of patients of different age and health status - D.W7.

In terms of skills, the graduate is able to:
U1: Collect information, formulate nursing diagnoses, determine aims and plans of nursing care, implement nursing interventions and evaluate nursing care for women with gynaecological illness - D.U1.
U2: Provide counselling in self-care for women after gynaecological surgery - D.U2.
U3: Conduct prophylaxis of complications in pre- and postoperative period - D.U3

Prerequisites
When beginning the classes, the student should possess basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly anatomy of the reproductive system, male and female reproductive organs, and structure of the bony pelvis.

The condition for passing the course is:
- 100% attendance at lectures, practical classes, professional practice and submission of self-study by the deadline set by the instructor, impeccable student conduct,
- making up justified absences in a form agreed with the instructor,
- extended observation by instructor: K1-K3 (0-10 points, >50%),
