Clinical Physiotherapy, Clinical Basis of Physiotherapy: Oncology 1855-F2-O-SJ
Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and practical classes. Lectures are designed to familiarize the student with the basic issues of modern oncology and to understand the strategy of combined treatment of cancer. During the course of the curriculum the basics of chemotherapy, oncological surgery, radiotherapy are discussed. Attention is paid to the fact that psycho-physical rehabilitation is an integral part of oncological treatment. Diagnostic possibilities, including new imaging techniques, as well as biochemical tests are discussed. Attention is paid to the importance of prognostic and predictive factors in assessing the effects of oncological treatment. During exercises, students learn to differentiate tumours and learn about their stage and therapeutic possibilities.
