General Sciences: Legal Basis of Physiotherapist's Practice 1855-F1-PPRZWF-SJ

The course begins with an explanation of polish legal system, sources of law and main institutions such as National Health Fund and Social Insurance Institution. The course also focuses on Polish and European legal solutions in the field of healthcare. The student will be introduced to the legal texts concerning physiotherapy and the healthcare system in Poland and European Union and also to the social and health insurance benefits issues. The subject also focuses on being physiotherapist in Poland, meaning of regulated profession and health care structure in Poland. The course also sets out the organisation and tasks of the governing organisation of physiotherapists as well as the rights and duties of its membership.

Learning outcomes - knowledge

Student knows: B.W10 legal regulations related to the exercise of the profession of a physiotherapist, including patient rights, obligations of the employer and employee, in particular those arising from civil law, labor law, protection of industrial property and copyright, as well as the principles of civil liability in physiotherapy practice, B.W16 principles of managing a therapeutic team and organizing and managing entities conducting rehabilitation activities B.W17 rules for employing people with various degrees of disability

Student is able to: B.U7 conduct a simplified market analysis for the purposes of planning physiotherapy activities

Student is able to: K4 comply with patient rights and professional ethics, K9 to accept responsibility for decisions made in the course of professional activity, including in terms of the safety of oneself and other people
