Education Module 3: Finances and Management: Organisation and Management in Health Care 1800-ZP2-ORGZ-S2

Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and exercises. During the course, students learn the latest knowledge about the organization and management of health care, including the functioning of health care entities or employment planning.
In addition, on the examples of selected organizations, students have the opportunity to evaluate the solutions learned during the classes – appropriate procedures and tools. The classes are aimed at systematizing knowledge in the field of organization and management and supporting it with examples encouraging critical and creative thinking.

Term 2022/23:

Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and exercises. During classes, students will become familiar with the latest knowledge on organization and management in healthcare, including, among others, the functioning of healthcare entities or employment planning. Additionally, using examples of selected organizations, students have the opportunity to evaluate the solutions learned during classes - appropriate procedures and tools. The classes aim to systematize knowledge in the field of organization and management and support it with examples encouraging critical and creative thinking.

1. Obligatory hours carried out with the participation of a teacher: - participation in lectures - 15 h - participation in exercises - 30 h 45 h = 1.8 ECTS 2. Time devoted by the student to individual work: - reading literature - 5h = 0.2 ECTS Total workload: 50 h = 2 ECTS

Learning outcomes - knowledge

Knows and understands: W1 – issues of organization and financing of health care systems in Poland and worldwide (K_W04) W2 - system of legal and economic issues in the aspect of functioning of the health care sector and economic entities operating in it, all activities in the supervision of institutions and organization of activities of authorities in the field of health care (governmental and local government) (K_W05), (K_W30)

Learning outcomes - skills

Is able to: U1 - use theoretical knowledge in the aspect of organization and management in health care, notice, observe and interpret phenomena in the field of population health (K_U04) U2 - independently propose solutions to problems related to the specificity of work in health care units, while applying the necessary procedures (K_U09) U3 - effectively manage one's own time and that of colleagues (K_U19) U4 - to a wide extent formulate clear and detailed oral and written statements (in native and foreign language), as well as explain one's position on matters being discussed, considering the advantages and disadvantages of various solutions (including writing articles and presenting lectures) (K_U23) (K_U26)

Is ready to/has: K1 - undertakes activities to increase public awareness of health and safety at work (K_K05), (K_K07) K2 - uses various sources of information to expand research skills and undertakes autonomous actions aimed at resolving practical problems (K_K09) K3 - complies with ethical principles applicable in scientific research and the organization of other people's work, taking into account pathological phenomena that may occur in the workplace (K_K10), (K_K11)
