Behavioural and Social Sciences. Economics and Management in Healthcare 1800-R1-NBiSEiZ-S1L

Classes are conducted in the form of lectures.

As part of the subject, students will acquire knowledge and skills in the field of microeconomic and macroeconomic aspects of the functioning of health care, which will enable them to make rational and effective decisions within the subject.

Microeconomic aspects of the subject include the analysis of consumer and producer decisions in the area of health care. Students will learn the criteria and premises for making these decisions by economic entities. The macroeconomic part of the subject aims to familiarize students with the mechanisms of functioning of various forms of health care systems operating around the world.

Total student workload

Obligatory hours carried out with the participation of a teacher: - participation in lectures – 20 h (0.6 ECTS) - participation in exercises – 35 h (1.2 ECTS) 55 h = 1.8 ECTS 2. Time devoted by the student to individual work, including: - reading literature - 20 h (0.8 ECTS) - preparation for classes – 20 h (0.8 ECTS) 3. Time required to prepare and participate in the assessment process: - preparation for credit - 40 h (1.6 ECTS) Total workload: 125 h = 5 ECTS

Learning outcomes - knowledge

Knows and understands: W1 - basic issues related to health economics and financial management in the health care system; - B.W28 W2 - basic issues in the field of ergonomics, including the principles of ergonomic work organization; - B.W33 W3 - the impact of environmental factors on human and social health, state health policy, health programs and health threats, taking into account variables such as age, place of residence, study or work; - B.W37 W4 - basic regulations regarding the organization and financing of the health care system and universal health insurance; - B.W39 W5 - principles of quality management and quality assurance methods; - B.W41

Learning outcomes - skills

Is able to: U1 - adhere to the principles of sanitary and epidemiological safety and prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases; B.U08 U2 - assess exposure to harmful substances in the human environment and apply the principles of ergonomic monitoring; B.U17 U3 - perform activities in the field of medical rescue and provide health services in compliance with legal regulations regarding the performance of the profession of a paramedic - B.20
