Summer internships – 200h
Accreditation based on attendance and active participation in internships.
During the internship, students systematize their knowledge of the basics of physiotherapy acquired in previous years of studies. This internship allows the student to choose a facility according to their interests, in which they will specialize in the future as a physiotherapist.
Students can choose from clinical departments, outpatient clinics and clinics.

Learning outcomes - knowledge
F.W5. - methods of describing and interpreting basic units and disease syndromes
to the extent that enables rational use of physiotherapy measures and physiotherapy planning
F.W12. - the role of the physiotherapist in the process of comprehensive rehabilitation and other
specialists in the therapeutic team
Learning outcomes - skills
F.U3. - create, verify and modify rehabilitation programs for people with
various dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system and other organs and systems,
according to their clinical and functional condition, and the goals of comprehensive
rehabilitation;
F.U7. - use and operate equipment, physiotherapy equipment and
functional testing equipment and prepare a workstation
F.U8. - work in an interdisciplinary team ensuring continuity of care
for the patient and communicate with other team members, with the patient
and his family
F.U9. - enter data and information obtained and a description of the effects of
treatments and therapeutic activities into the patient's documentation
F.U11. - define the scope of one's professional competences and cooperate
with representatives of other medical professions;
F.U12 - independently perform assigned tasks and properly organize
one's own work and take responsibility for it
F.U13. - work in a team and take responsibility for participating
in decision-making
F.U14. - actively participate in the work of the therapeutic team
F.U15. - actively participate in discussions on professional issues,
taking into account ethical principles
F.U16. - adhere to the principles of professional deontology, including the principles of professional ethics
of a physiotherapist
F.U17. - respect the rights of the patient
F.U18. - establish a relationship with the patient and co-workers based on
mutual trust and respect

K1. – establishing and maintaining respectful contact with the patient, as well as
showing understanding for differences in worldviews and cultures
K5. – perceiving and recognizing one's own limitations, making
self-assessment of deficits and educational needs
K6. – using objective sources of information
K8. – formulating opinions on various aspects of professional activity
Teaching methods
Summer internship:
- demonstration
- case analysis
- observation of physiotherapists' work
- practical performance of assigned physiotherapy activities with a patient
Prerequisites
A student starting a summer profiled - elective internship should have knowledge in the field of: normal human anatomy, anthropometry, movement education and movement teaching methodology, physiology, basics of clinical physiotherapy: rehabilitation, cardiology, orthopedics and traumatology, kinesitherapy, as well as physical therapy and massage.

Assessment criteria
1. The internship journal contains a verification card for learning outcomes, based on which the mentor assesses the student's knowledge, skills and social competences. To obtain credit for the internship, all components must be passed with a "yes" (minimum required for passing). In other situations, when there is at least one "no" credit, the student will not receive an entry in USOS confirming that the summer internship has been passed.
2. All absences from summer internships must be made up after arranging a date with the internship supervisor.
