Term 2022/23:
During the lectures, the student will be introduced to selected disease entities from the field of internal sciences. The student will learn about the role of diet, methods of prevention and treatment of selected disease entities. The basic principles related to the nutrition of a sick person will be discussed. The student will learn about the consequences of obesity and malnutrition, methods of their diagnosis, prevention and treatment. As part of the exercises, the student will become familiar with diet therapy for selected diseases discussed during the lectures, conduct a clinical and nutritional interview, perform an anthropometric assessment of the patient and propose a method of feeding the patient in selected disease entities, taking into account means of special medical purposes and educate the patient and/or his family. |
