The lecture is to provide knowledge about the most common health problems in the elderly, with particular emphasis on the problem of malnutrition. The student will get acquainted not only with the assessment of the nutritional status of an older patient, but also with the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment carried out as part of routine hospitalization. Teaching is also aimed at learning the specifics of an elderly patient, which translates into practical knowledge of personalized pharmacotherapy, as well as the toxicity of drugs and drug interactions in the elderly.

1. Contact hours with teacher:
- participation in lectures: 20 hours,
- consultations with an academic teacher: 4 hours.
- completion of the test: 1 hour.
The workload related to the activities requiring the direct participation of academic teachers is 25 hours, which corresponds to 1.0 ECTS points.
2. Self-study hours:

- preparation for test = 12 hrs

the condition for passing the course is active participation in classes (obligatory attendance) and a written assessment in the form of a single-choice test (single-choice open and closed questions).
