Seminars, describing perspectives of development in cardiac surgery.

Learning outcomes - knowledge
W1: knows the structure of the circulatory system, especially of the heart - as the basis of questions connected to diagnostics, planning, and performing heart operations (A K_W02)
W2: knows the function and regulatory mechanisms of the circulatory and respiratory systems in connection to the basic clinical questions of cardiac surgery (B K_W25)
Learning outcomes - skills
U1: concludes the relations between anatomical structures of the thorax, basing on the radiological and echographic imaging ( x-ray, coronary angiography, CT, MRI) (A K_U04)
U2: explains the anatomic basis of the medical examination, important in the pre-and postoperative treatment of the patient (A K_U03)
Learning outcomes - social competencies
K1: is able to keep maintain respectful contact with the patient (K_K03)
K2: shell be guided by the good of the patient, putting it in the first place (K_K04)
K3: can co-operate with other members of the medical staff, in clinical and outpatient wards (K_K07)

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system.
The ability to use pre-clinical subject knowledge to understand pathophysiological mechanisms accompanying the congenital and acquired diseases of the circulatory system.
Basic knowledge of examining patients.
