5.4. Liver Transplantation

The seminar (prepared by the students) is aimed to acquaint them with the theory behind liver transplantation (indications, patient preparation, the surgery itself and postoperative management). It is supplemented by additional remarks and discussion by the teachers.
The tutorials will be devoted to working with trans plant recipients and patients undergoing preparation for surgery; the will consist of case file analysis and the discussion of possible clinical scenarios.

W2: knows the genetic basis of donor and recipient matching and basic transplant immunology (C K_W24)
W3: has basic knowledge of transplant surgery; knows the indications for transplantation of irreversibly damaged organs and tissues and the associated procedures (F K_W14)
W4: is familiar with the legal regulations concerning transplants ( G K_W10)
